Isn’t he lovely? Isn’t he wonderful?
The title of this post may initially be seen as a piss-take but I am genuine in my praise of this character. I am as likely as the next person to admire good looks and style, neither of which this gentleman can claim. However there is something so solid and warming in this rough, ruddy face that I really do find him lovely and wonderful, despite his lack of the more superficial attributes we so often look for in a person.
If it wasn’t for the era of this photo, (I am guessing 1940s) I would have said the item in his pocket was a mobile phone. Is it a clue to his occupation? I am really not sure what it is.
This is a standard sized photobooth photo from the USA, that measures 38 x 42 mm.
Love it. The photo reminds me of my grandfather on my mother’s side. You are right – lovely and wonderful.

Very congenial looking man. Looks like his work is dirty, what ever it is.

I think the dirt is part of his appeal. I bet his hands were amazing, too!

Only Stevie Wonder would sing that for him. I felt like singing “Casey Jones waiting at the station, Casey Jones la la la….” For some reason he reminds me of trains.

Hey, Sue. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Yes, trains is a possibility. The Stevie Wonder comment (outside of my ripping off his lyrics) had me puzzled at first but then I got the joke!
