Mutton Chops and Smiley Man
Great faces on these two, eh? They must have been great friends to squeeze into a booth together. I wonder if they made the strip for their wives whilst on a trip to the city? They certainly look like country blokes.
This photo comes from the USA and is undated.
Those are fantastic whiskers. In the seventies there was a British soap character called Amos Brearly. He supposedly went to Spain but I think you’ve just found him.

Cool, Zig! Which soap? Coronation Street?

Emmerdale. It was probably called Emmerdale Farm back then though.

Love those two. They remind me of characters from my childhood.

I think they might be with their wives. The guy on the right seems engaged by someone out of frame. Probably a trip in to the big city (however big that might be to have a photobooth) or maybe to the annual agricultural fair. Were there mobile/travelling photobooths?

Yes, there were a lot of travelling booths at carnivals and such. Maybe the missing photos (there would have been a least three others) were of the wives.

Maybe a couple of carnies!

Wow, I hadn’t thought of that. Great theory Sue. I hope that is true but will probably never know for sure.
