The Truman Show – 2 October 1998
2 October 1998, Chadstone, Melbourne
My sister Sue and I after seeing the wonderful movie, The Truman Show. I love this strip of photos due to the great expressions on my Subie’s face.
It must have been too hot for me in the theatre, as unusually for me, I have my hair tied back.
This strip is part of the series Photobooth 41 Year Project. You can see all the posts that document the series by clicking here.
Nice series of shots here. Your sister has so much variety in her face, I would not know whether to be relaxed or wary – the last couple of shots are emanate ‘don’t mess with me’ attitude but the first two are totally different. I hope that she is nice to you, always.

Even though I have just told her to have a look at this post, I will say that sometimes she is a bit scary. She is 5 years younger than me but has often seemed more like the big sister in the relationship. I completely adore her. She is a woman who knows her own mind and doesn’t shrink from saying what she thinks. I am more of a coward.

She sounds wonderful. I hope you are like minded enough that you get to sit back and listen (= chicken out) while she speaks both your minds. 🙂

I particulary liked Mr E’s comment “while she speaks both your minds”. But of course you know you really are the big sister and that I adore you, don’t you darling? (I know you are a softie more than scary, by the way)

OK I retract all judgements based on appearance – that kind of inference is a pretty flimsy endeavour at the best of times. But fun, which is what makes these photo strips entertaining.

Don’t retract anything. You are great!

But, I would not want to offend your kid sister, or have too much fun at her (diminutive) expense.
Is she really 48″ tall?

She isn’t quite that small but she doesn’t hit 5′ on a measuring tape. I’d say 4 ‘ 11 ”. But I always think of her as being taller. A lot taller. She has a big personality and great sense of humour and is totally adorable (except when she is being scary:)) PS She wasn’t offended at all at comments.

Sounds like you love her a lot.
I think you said somewhere that she lives on the other side of the world. Both my sisters do as well. What is it with sisters being far away? Not something to do with their siblings, I hope.

I do love her heaps! SIsters fall in love with dashing foreigners, I guess. That is their trouble. I really wanted to dislike my brother-in-law for taking her away from us, but have to admit Sue has great taste. He is a wonderful hubby and particularly great father.
